September was an EXTREMELY busy month for me as far as Kake orders. There were so many birthdays and special events that I felt like I was doing a kake every few days!
Happy Birthday Kiki!

This is a single-layer red velvet kake with cream cheese frosting. Instead of dying the frosting, I used the frosting spray paint. I had never used this before and was concerned on how the frosting would taste.
I myself did not actually taste this kake, however I received a good report and so I am hoping that it did not alter the good flavor of the frosting.
Moscato, Please.

This kake was supposed to replicate this particular bottle of moscato wine. It is a 4-layer yellow kake with cream cheese frosting. the edges on the top of the kake were rounded off and the neck of the bottle was formed with scraps. I even added an actual wine bottle cork to the top on the neck.
The design was mainly done with icing, however some of the detail on the bottom of the bottle was done in icing pen in order to get a finer point. In my opinion, the bottle could have been a little slimmer in order to look more like a wine bottle, however it's width allowed me to be more detailed in replicating the design from the bottle.
Happy Retirement!

This kake was made for two counselors at a youth detention center who, together, had put in 65 years of work to the facility!
It is a single-layer yellow kake with cream cheese frosting. Each letter is an individual Kake carved into it's shape. The colored dots were confetti sprinkles I bought at a craft store in the Cake Decoration section. I thought they made the kake look rather festive and spunky.
Forever, I Love Atlanta.
This is a double-layer yellow kake with cream cheese frosting, made for a friend who was moving out of state for a new job position. The frosting was dyed red but then sprayed with frosting spray paint to richen the red color. The rest of the design was created with tube decorative icing. The shape of the kake was carved out and not done with a heart-shaped pan.
Pizza Pie! No Wait, Pizza Kake.
This was made for the owner of a local pizza parlor in my area. His wife informed me of it very last minute (the night before, to be exact) and so it was not well thought out.It is a double-layer yellow kake with cream cheese frosting. I used a brown gel icing to dye the "crust" a beige color. I wanted the "cheese" to look like some of it had melted into the "crust". I then topped it with "pepperoni, green peppers, and black olives"!
Not so bad with only 12 hour notice....
